Haider Ali hits last-ball four to secure a tie for Derbyshire

A late cameo from Haider Ali worth 26 off 13 balls included holding his nerves on the final ball when Derbyshire needed five runs to beat Durham. The final over, bowled by Wayne Parnell, began with the chasing side needing 10 runs to win. The left-arm pacer nailed his wide yorkers to give away just five off five but strayed in line on the last ball, allowing Haider hit it past backward square leg to earn a thrilling tie.
Before the game culminated in that fashion, Durham scored 178 in 20 overs even as Zak Chappell and Zaman Khan picked four wickets each for Derbyshire. Brydon Carse (58 off 30) and Michael Jones (30 off 19) set Durham up well but they suffered a collapse at the death, going from 161 for 5 in the 18th over to 178 all out. In response, Derbyshire opener Luis Reece got a fifty and his opening partner Harry Came blazed away (34 off 18). Durham clawed their way back with the wickets of Wayne Madsen,Leus du Plooy and Brook Guest, but Haider took his team past the finish line.

Dan Mousley (49* off 28) and Jacob Bethell (32 off 13) added 51 off the last 19 balls to power Warwickshire to a huge total of 196 for 5, which was looking like a distant dream at the halfway stage. Even Warwickshire's top-order batters got starts while Usama Mir kept pushing back as he finished with a spell of 3 for 22.
Warwickshire bowlers then put on a combined effort even as Worcestershire captain Brett D'Oliveira led his team's chase with a half-century. He lacked the support cast however, as only Adam Hose (36 off 26) and Mitchell Santner (26 off 18) attempted to join him in the fight but fell away soon. Usama aimed to make an impact with the bat as well, smashing one four and three sixes enroute 32 off 16 but that wasn't enough in the end.

Steven Croft hit five fours and seven sixes on his way to a superlative 101 off just 52 balls, setting up Lancashire's comfortable 35-run victory over Northamptonshire away from home. Lancashire were jolted early by the hosts as they lost Jos Buttler for a six-ball duck and were three down for 25 in the fifth over, but up stepped Croft and Daryl Mitchell. The pair added 146 runs for the fourth-wicket off just 72 balls to lay the foundation for their side's big total.
After a solid batting show, Lancashire were further lifted by an exceptional bowling performace with Luke Wood leading the way. The left-arm pacer knocked over Northamptonshire's openers in the PowerPlay and dismissed David Willey for a first-ball duck. Offspinner Luke Wells struck through the middle before Mitchell wrapped up the chase with two wickets. Tom Taylor's unbeaten 40 off 27 balls was the best effort from a Northamptonshire batter as his team fell well short of the target.

Adam Lyth and Dawid Malan made mincemeat of Leicestershire's highly-competitive total of 195/5 as Yorkshire chased it down in 18.1 overs to record their sixth straight win in the T20 Blast. Lyth finished unbeaten on 90 off just 50 balls, with 12 fours and 2 sixes to his name while Malan smashed 79 off 45, with 9 fours and 3 sixes. Together, they hit 158 for the first wicket in just 14 overs to put the game well beyond Leicestershire's grasp.
Leicestershire went into the innings break with a defendable total, largely thanks to Louis Kimber's unbeaten 59 from No.5. It came after openers Nick Welsh (40 off 24) and Harry Swindells (39 off 30) gave their side a strong start. Kimber added 53 runs off 31 balls for the fifth wicket with Wiaan Mulder to drag the team total close to 200. And yet, it wasn't enough on the night.

Joe Denly's 37-ball 73 and Daniel Bell-Drummond's 42-ball 66 trumped Max Holden's scintillating 121* off 59 as Kent posted 228/3 and defended it against Middlesex to win by 13 runs.
Kent got going with big partnerships all over, starting with an 88-run stand for the first wicket between Denly and Tawanda Muyeye. Once Muyeye fell, Denly and Bell-Drummond added 49 off 29 balls. Sam Billings chipped in with a cameo too, of 24* from 15. Between them, Denly and Bell-Drummond smashed 12 fours and 7 sixes to help Kent post 228 for 3. In response, Middlesex had a stuttered start before Max Holden took charge by tonking 10 fours and 6 sixes on his way to an unbeaten 121 off just 59 balls. But he was short of able allies to keep the chase afloat. He fought on till the end but Middlesex fell 13 runs short.

Oliver Carter's 33-ball 64 and Bradley Currie's 3 for 27 helped a struggling Sussex down Hampshire by six runs in Hove. Carter's knock was instrumental in carrying Sussex to 183 for 6, with small but vital contributions coming from the likes of Ravi Bopara and Michael Burgess. John Turner and Benny Howell picked two wickets each for Hampshire.
Hampshire then had a top-order collapse as they fell to 24 for 4 inside the PowerPlay overs. There was a mini-revival with a 51-run stand between Liam Dawson and Joe Weatherley but that proved to be insufficient. All of the Sussex bowlers had an impactful outing, none more than left-arm pacer Carrie, who dealt the chasing side two blows in the PowerPlay and then dismissed Ross Whiteley in the middle overs. The chase came down to Hampshire needing 21 off the final over, where Nathan Ellis bounced back well after conceding 14 off four balls to secure a six-run victory.

Sam Curran picked five wickets to derail Somerset's run chase in Surrey's 28-run victory. Surrey were first propelled by opener Will Jacks's 43-ball 60 and Chris Jordan's late-order hitting (36* off 12) that earned them the big total of 195 for 9.
Curran dismissed Will Smeed and Tom Kohler-Cadmore in the PowerPlay after which Tom Banton and Tom Abell strung together a 69-run stand in 6.3 overs. That, however, was broken by Gus Atkinson with the wicket of Abell while Curran returned to stop Banton in his tracks. The Somerset opener departed for 53 off 37, taking with him any hopes his team had of a successful run chase. Somerset went from 119 for 3 in the 14th over to 146 for 9 in the 18th, with Craig Overton becoming Curran's fifth scalp.

Feroze Khushi's 61 at the top of the order and key knocks from Paul Walter (43) and Daniel Sams (41) gave Essex their fourth win on the bounce.
Glamorgan got to 175 for 6 in 20 overs with Kiran Carlson leading from the front with a 43, Timm van Der Gugten chipping in at the end along with a couple of helping hands through the middle. Essex's chase however was built on Khushi's 61, even as Jamie McIlroy picked two wickets in the first over and one in the third. From 35 for 3, Essex were carried forward by Khushi and Paul Walter's stand worth 80 runs. Even as Walter departed, Essex didn't let up in chase as Sams smashed five fours and two sixes in his 16-ball cameo worth 41 runs. Mcllroy made Sams his fourth wicket but that was mere consolation as Essex completed the chase with four wickets and as many overs to spare.
